More data volume that grows automatically, higher surfing speeds, 5G in all tariffs:New O2 mobile offering with more performance from April
The O2 brand will launch a new mobile service under the name O2 Mobile on April 5, 2023. The telecommunications company O2 Telefónica is thus also implementing its announced strategy of packing more performance into tariffs at a fair price for its core brand. New customers benefit, in addition to higher data volumes and higher surfing speeds in the gigabyte tariffs, above all from the Grow Benefit: The monthly data volume of O2 Mobile customers grows by up to 10 gigabytes every year, depending on the tariff - automatically and at no extra charge.1
In 2022, the innovative Grow Benefit in Germany's first mobile rate plan that grows with the customer, "O2 Grow," first ensured additional growth and high customer satisfaction at O2. Now the brand is making it the central customer benefit of its new mobile portfolio.
Further performance improvements from O2 Mobile compared to the previous O2 tariffs:
- Higher data volume in all gigabyte tariffs: The O2 Mobile M, for example, has 25 gigabytes of data, which is 25 percent more, and an additional 5 gigabytes are added annually through the Grow Benefit. The rate costs EUR 32.99 per month2 (for comparison, O2 Free M: 20 gigabytes for EUR 29.99 per month).
- Higher speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s and 5G access also in the entry-level tariffs O2 Mobile S 3 and S Boost 4: All new O2 Mobile tariffs will use the high-speed mobile standard. Nationwide, the O2 network, which has received multiple "Very Good" awards, supplies more than 80 percent of the population with 5G.*
- Higher speeds also in the Unlimited tariffs: The O2 Mobile Unlimited Basic offers up to 3 Mbit/s in upload and download, the O2 Mobile Unlimited Smart up to 15 Mbit/s in download and 10 Mbit/s in upload. The O2 Mobile Unlimited Max remains unchanged at 500 Mbit/s download and 50 Mbit/s upload.
Mobile communications innovations tested under real conditions in Potsdam
"With our new innovative O2 Mobile portfolio, we will offer new customers an all-round carefree package at a continued highly attractive price-performance ratio in a very good network*. The O2 Mobile tariffs simply grow in line with the increasing mobile data usage in the 5G age, without our customers having to do anything. That's what we mean by customer focus and fairness," says Dr. Verena Grundke, Director Customer Marketing O2 Telefónica.
Thanks to the Combi Benefit, O2 customers can also book additional mobile tariffs at O2 Mobile at permanently half price. Familiar features such as the Connect Option of the Boost tariffs, which allows customers to use the central data volume for up to 10 mobile devices 5 and the EUR 10 discount for "young people" also apply. The new O2 Mobile portfolio does not change anything for existing customers. They can switch to one of the new tariffs as part of a contract renewal. Further information will follow in March 2023. In addition, there will be an improved offer for O2 prepaid customers in Q2 2023.
